To be a director is to observe deeply and weave those observations into vivid expressions. Within me reside two distinct creators. My reflections on society and humanity find voice through the stage - in plays, light shows, and captivating events. Yet, my contemplations of nature and the haunting beauty of forgotten places emerge in artisanal soap paintings, living plant terrariums, and concrete vessels cradling natural soy wax candles.
Born in Smiltene, Latvia on October 9, 1975, I hold a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Latvia and another in Theater Directing and Acting from the Latvian Academy of Culture. Beyond these, I have explored the realms of writing and sports science. With over 25 years in the art of directing, I have brought to life countless productions - plays, multimedia spectacles, concert performances, and events across Latvia. For 17 years, I have also graced the stage as an actor with the theater club “Austrumu Robeža.”

Soap paintings, by their essence, belong to the realm of applied art—crafted as classic handmade soaps from coconut oil and shea butter bases, sourced from the Latvian artisans at "Forbury." I began creating soap paintings four years ago. Though I’ve long been enchanted by painting, yet a brush never felt quite right in my hands. Soap paintings come to life without brushes—through pouring, sprinkling, pressing, spreading, and melting.
These soap paintings bloom without brushes—born of pouring, sprinkling, pressing, flowing, and melting. Each petite masterpiece is crafted with care, granted its own time, and imbued with its own narrative. Within them, you’ll find my impressions and emotions inspired by nature—gathered from my countryside retreats, sunset musings, and treks through Latvia’s dense forests and mystical bogs.

Creative souls with kindred spirits are destined to meet. In 2022, I crossed paths with Elīna Muceniece, a gifted candle maker from Jēkabpils, while shaping the light performance "Lāčplēsis" at Likteņdārzs. I sought candles, and upon seeing Elīna’s handcrafted concrete vessels, I knew instantly—these would illuminate "Lāčplēsis." Thus began our collaboration, now blossoming into shared collections.
On my hikes, I seek out long-abandoned places where time’s imprint and nature’s triumph tell silent stories. These moments of discovery are poured into my concrete vessel collections, which Elīna elevates with the warm glow of natural soy wax candles and scents that echo their soulful ambiance.

The scenographic wisdom honed through directing and the serene idyll of nature converge in my spatial creations—living plant terrariums. Meticulously designed and nurtured for two months, each terrarium arrives at your home as a self-sustaining sanctuary.
Encased in glass, it thrives through photosynthesis, crafting its own oxygen and glucose. Excess moisture rises from the leaves, condenses on the vessel’s walls, and returns to the soil—a graceful cycle reborn endlessly. Within each terrarium lie stones gathered from forest streams, and tucked somewhere inside, a quiet relic of humanity’s past—a tiny key, a forged nail, or another treasure uncovered along my path.
