The candle coasters, crafted by Dzērbene woodworker and artist Roberts Neilands from compressed cardboard with an oak veneer, are an excellent accessory for nearly any interior. Treated with tung oil to maximize moisture resistance, these coasters serve not only as a decorative item but also as an indispensable protector for surfaces sensitive to contact with hard materials (e.g., glass) when placing a candle in a concrete container.
My collaboration with Roberts Neilands feels natural for several reasons. Firstly, we are family - Roberts is my cousin’s partner. Secondly, our creative visions align closely, allowing us to jointly create complementary design product lines.
Candle coaster with burned-in design: Material - compressed cardboard with oak veneer, treated with tung oil; size 9 x 9 cm, weight 38 grams. This size coaster is suitable for candles in concrete tumblers and bowls.
