Īle Tower. Bowl (55h). Scent: Velvet Sparks
Sometimes I like to get in the car and drive wherever my eyes take me. That’s how I ended up in Īle, Dobele County. I can’t even remember how many hours I spent by what might just be the most beautiful tower I’ve ever seen. Originally built as a windmill tower and later converted into a water tower, this majestic skyscraper captivated me with the unusual rust coating its brick walls. In the sunlight, the Īle Tower sparkles in stunning hues. The tower and its extraordinary beauty inspired me to create this collection, where shimmer intertwines with rust, brown blends with gray, and hints of sky blue peek through. I’ve personally added a unique character to the concrete vessels crafted by Elīna Muceniece, infusing them with a sense of movement from the times when the wind turned the mill’s sails and water rushed down the pipes.
The large bowl, with its classic shape and dynamic vignette featuring rust elements, brings a lively dynamism to the space, infused with an aura of the past. The natural soy wax candle, scented with what we’ve named "Velvet Sparks," fills the room with notes of musk, patchouli, honey, and orchid, creating a true spark of freshness.
As the candle burns, the concrete bowl warms up, ensuring the candle burns completely without leaving any soy residue on the bowl’s walls. Once the candle has burned out, you can safely place another candle in the bowl, or, after washing it, use it as a decorative item for whatever purpose you see fit, such as storing non-food items.
Bowl outer top diameter: 17.5 cm, height: 8.5 cm, soy wax weight: 500 g, total candle weight: 1540 g, burning time: 55 hours. Authors: Kārlis Anitens and Elīna Muceniece.
